First, my prayers and thoughts are with the victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting-dead and living-and their loved ones. Also, my prayers are with the family of the dead gunman, Omar Mateen, since they now must bear the burden of what he did.
My response to this tragedy is for us to be courageous and loving. We have to be courageous to embrace the GLTBQ as well as the Muslim. We have to fight demagoguery wherever it rears its ugly head with love. We must be courageous to bring down prejudicial laws that demean humans and deny their rights to dignity. Fear and hatred need to be checked since they’re emotions we cannot afford to bear. Only courage and love will bring us through this dark hour.
Peace and prayers for Orlando, and other “Orlandos” in our world.
