Intimate Encounters of the Divine Kind

Let heaven and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them.  Psalm 69:34 (New King James Version)

Today I am at worship service. We had a moment of praise and worship where the Spirit of God-the Divine Erotic Power that is life itself-flowed through the congregation.

Too often we see the media portray praise and worship as a time of people fawning about and dancing; times that have been lampooned and criticized by many.  Although such barbs are insulting; sad to say, there’s justification when we see people faking these attitudes-inside and outside the Church.

However on the real tip, praise and worship to me is a time where we build our intimacy with the Divine. As I’ve said in the past, worship is likened to making love. Our praise shows our love and appreciation for the Divine. Our worship is the demonstration of our intimacy with the Divine.

When we see the dance in praise and worship, it’s the celebration of our intimacy and our being opened up to Him/Her. The moans, tears and shouts are the ecstatic utterances of that relationship that well up from the soul-souls that have a real “close encounter” with God.

This post’s text calls for the whole universe to praise and worship. Through praise and worship, all comes into that oneness with the Divine. And with that oneness we show forth our Divinity as well.

Let’s take time to praise and worship God so we can have that true intimacy with Him/Her.

Peace.

About dangerouschristian

My name is Victor Reynolds. I'm a Christian who desires a more mystical approach to my spiritual life. I'm also a photographer as well who loves to create. I call myself "dangerous" because anyone-especially a Christian-who dares to be beyond the "norm" and allows to let the Christ live in them is dangerous.
