Don’t Cry For Me…

Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.
Luke 23:28 (NIV)

Home going services for Whitney Houston were held at her home church, New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.  Over the past week, and in the days ahead, the world mourned and is mourning the sudden and too-soon loss of the songstress.

However, the world needs to weep another passing friend: business as usual.  As I write this post, our world is passing into some uncharted waters that will test the most heartiest of souls.  We need to mourn:

  • The days of cheap gas.
  • Home ownership.
  • Box stores and shopping malls.
  • The suburbs and exurbs.
  • Job security.
  • The “American Dream”.
  • American Christianity.
  • “Traditional family and gender roles.
  • The world as we know it.
  • Government.

We need to begin mourning the above since each (and more) will pass away (like our dear Whitney).  This is a “preface” to my upcoming post, “Is IS The End.”

Stay tuned.  Peace!

Rest Easy, Whitney.  See you when I get there!

About dangerouschristian

My name is Victor Reynolds. I'm a Christian who desires a more mystical approach to my spiritual life. I'm also a photographer as well who loves to create. I call myself "dangerous" because anyone-especially a Christian-who dares to be beyond the "norm" and allows to let the Christ live in them is dangerous.
