What I Believe

Happy 2012 everybody!

As part of the renovation here, I will put down what I believe.  Usually when you see a Christian blog (of whatever stripe), you’ll see this section that breaks down what said blogger believes in regards to the tenets of the Christian faith.  So in keeping with tradition, I’m going to do likewise…to a point.  I’m not going to put down what I believe about the Bible, the Trinity, sin, salvation, etc.  What I’m going to put down are my values-things I believe in.

In this blog’s first incarnation back
in 2007, I listed what were my “core values”.  In October 2010, I listed them again on my Facebook page.  Now, I’m going to list them as the new basis of this blog.  I believe that the Christian road trip is not “what my pastor/bishop/elder/overseer/priest/rabbi/imam/guru/chief-cook-and-bottlewasher told me to believe,” however it should be what the individual believes for themselves.  It’s not also what “the Bible tells me so” since the Bible cannot save, nor is it a perfect book.

In fact, what do we truly believe? Here is what I believe:

1. Exploration and Curiosity
2. Freedom
3. Creativity
4. Excitement
5. Love
6. Sexuality/Sensuality
7. Mystery/Spiritually/Transcendence/Wonder
8. Fun/Joy/Playfulness
9. Boldness/Outrageousness
10. Openness/Open-Mindedness
11. Unlimited Abundance
12. Solitude
13. Celebration/Dance
14. Magic/Alchemy
15. Revolutionary/Contrarian
16. Freethinker

I will expand on these in the days ahead. Peace!

About dangerouschristian

My name is Victor Reynolds. I'm a Christian who desires a more mystical approach to my spiritual life. I'm also a photographer as well who loves to create. I call myself "dangerous" because anyone-especially a Christian-who dares to be beyond the "norm" and allows to let the Christ live in them is dangerous.
