Christmas 2011

Just lit up the tree. My son’s asleep waiting for Santa. I sit with some wine, winding down from the day.

It’s Christmas, when we celebrate the “birth” of Jesus. We commemorate that night in Bethlehem when light and light burst forth onto our cold and dark world. A time for celebration and exchanging of gifts. When Yuletide carols fill the air, and loved ones gather at tables to eat and drink together.

All that’s well and good. However Christmas 2011 finds me out of sync with everyone else. This year, I’m not into all the gooey Holiday stuff as others are. After losing my dad, brother, godfather, and godmother; my wife again contending with breast cancer; and our world going down an uncertain path, I  find little to celebrate.

To tie in with an earlier post, the of only reason I can truly celebrate is that God still shines forth despite our cold, dark, dead lives. That Christ can be born in our very lives theft through the power of the Divine.

Soon I’ll be in bed, getting ready for worship service. We’ll hear the Christmas sermon about that mythical night, etc….

It’s Christmas Morning. I’m at church with the family. Despite all that’s going on about me, I am grateful to be here with my church family. Today I feel the power of the Divine Erotic flowing through the congregation. This is that light that bursts through, the new-born Christ in the manger.

May the Spirit of the Christ, the Divine Erotic, flow through us and empower us not just today, but forever.

Have a Blessed Christmas! Peace!

About dangerouschristian

My name is Victor Reynolds. I'm a Christian who desires a more mystical approach to my spiritual life. I'm also a photographer as well who loves to create. I call myself "dangerous" because anyone-especially a Christian-who dares to be beyond the "norm" and allows to let the Christ live in them is dangerous.
