Today’s a sunny December afternoon. As I gaze out the window and see the mid-late afternoon sun on the trees, my mind harkens back to times of afternoon lovemaking.  For me, afternoon was the best time of day to make love.  It was a quiet time of the day that was unique compared to the traditional “night time is the right time” time to make love.

The afternoon has a unique quietude to it, when the day kicks it back a notch. You don’t have the frenetic place of morning, nor the overly subdued mood of night.  Somehow this time of day is just right to make love. Especially in these colder months when you have less daylight (although I can enjoy afternoon lovemaking at any season). I enjoy this especially on a Sunday afternoon after worship service!

Looking at the lengthening shadows as day begins to slowly fade with the westward traversing sun, I feel the pang of so precious a time. Making love in the afternoon is a sacred time-the closest we can come to worship. However, we don’t take such a time seriously-especially as our lives, like the Earth’s passage around the Sun, are moving forward unceasing in their courses.

I long for that time again, when my beloved and I can embrace in the light of the afternoon sun. No noise, just the sacred silence the moment calls for. Lovers coming together in sweet fellowship and communion…

In the afternoon.

About dangerouschristian

My name is Victor Reynolds. I'm a Christian who desires a more mystical approach to my spiritual life. I'm also a photographer as well who loves to create. I call myself "dangerous" because anyone-especially a Christian-who dares to be beyond the "norm" and allows to let the Christ live in them is dangerous.
