What Now?

As I write this post, this story is still developing.  Here’s the link to The Washington Post article: Official with knowledge of Conn. school shooting: 27 dead, including 18 children : http://wapo.st/UXNC1q

What’s happening here people?  I’m still trying to digest this story in Connecticut where a individual went into the Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot and killed 27 people, 10 of which were students.  My God, 18 children killed in cold blood.  These kids were not that much older than my son.

As a parent, this touches me because I’m concerned about my son’s safety in school.  When I was his age, the worst a parent concerned themselves about when their kid was in school was his/her behaving themselves.  And for kids, it was getting in trouble (or too much homework).  However, today’s children are potential sitting ducks for some whack job that gets some sick power kick in shooting people-especially innocent children.

This also makes me ask what kind of people are we devolving into?  It’s bad enough when you hear about a shooting spree and all the victims were adults; but with children, I just can’t talk about it.  Are we so cold-blooded that we can casually take the lives of the innocent without remorse?  I mean, little children who had their lives ahead of them-probably getting ready for the Holidays-now their lights snuffed out.

My heart goes out the the families of the deceased-especially to the parents.  Let us pray and work to keep stuff like this from happening again.  God has called us to better than this.  As we talk about “Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men (and Women and Children)”, let’s put our collective money where our mouths are.

Pray for the families of the victims; and for the family of the killer as well.  Pray for peace.  Pray for love.

About dangerouschristian

My name is Victor Reynolds. I'm a Christian who desires a more mystical approach to my spiritual life. I'm also a photographer as well who loves to create. I call myself "dangerous" because anyone-especially a Christian-who dares to be beyond the "norm" and allows to let the Christ live in them is dangerous.
